Representative Text

1 In Egypt long I lingered,
Thro’ many weary years,
My soul oppressed with bondage,
My spirit crush’d with fears;
But God was then my Saviour,
From sin he set me free,
I’ll praise his name forever,
For he’s enough for me.

Refrain:
Yes, he’s enough for me,
My Saviour dear is he,
My keeper and my portion,
And he’s enough for me.

2 The God who sav’d from Egypt
Led me from day to day,
Thro’ wilderness so dreary
He was my guide and stay;
Till from the winding pathway
Fair Canaan I could see,
He brought me safely over,
And he’s enough for me. [Refrain]

3 I travel on in safety,
Still guided by his hand,
Where peace abides forever,
In Canaan’s borderland;
In God I find my portion,
Tho’ earthly joys may flee,
I need no other treasure,
For he’s enough for me. [Refrain]
