200. Is there any Reason, Sinner?

1 Is there any reason, sinner,
Why you should reject the Lord?
Can you think of any reason
You should trample on His Word?
Always hath He dealt in mercy,
Show'ring blessings on thy path;
Oh, what madness, then, to linger,
In the shadow of His wrath.

2 Thou art under condemnation,
Thou art altogether lost;
Thou art in the arms of Satan,
And the prey of death's dark host;
Thou art bound in chains of bondage,
And how drear is thine estate,
Soon to die without a Savior;
Oh, how sad will be thy fate!

3 Oh, then listen to the story,
How the Christ of God came down,
To redeem thee from thy bondage,
And to give to thee a crown;
Why not hearken to the Gospel,
Telling how thine awful guilt
On the cross was all atoned for,
When for thee His blood was spilt?

4 Tarry then no longer, sinner?
Thou art hast'ning to the grave!
Now repent! decide for Jesus!
For 'tis he alone can save.
Turn not from the Holy Spirit,
Who is saying, "Cease thy strife!"
Why not yield at once to Jesus,
And have everlasting life?
