Giuseppe Marco Maria Felice Blangini, bron in Turin, Nov. 18, 1781, died i Paris, Dec. 18, 1841. Dramatic composer and tenor singer. He was admitted in 1789 to the choristers' school in Turin Cathedral, and made rapid progress under Ablate Ottani; when twelve years old he acted as organist to the cathedral, and had composed a motet and a Kyrie, and at fourteen he led a mass with full orchestra. His favorite instrument was the violincello. In 1799 he went to Paris and became the fashionable composer of romances and nocturnes and teacher of singing. In 1802 he was commissioned to complete Della0Maria's unfinished opera, Lafausse duègne, which was followed by others of his own, and in 1805 he was called to Munich, where several of his operas… Go to person page >
