Representative Text

1 When sorrow and grief o’erwhelm you,
Bending you low with woe,
Then think of the sorrow of Jesus,
Who loves you so.

Refrain:
Then fasten your eyes upon Jesus,
Jesus the Crucified;
Living is He and pleading,
Pleading for you and me.

2 When joys of the world allure you,
Calling you from His side,
Then fasten your eyes upon Jesus,
Once crucified. [Refrain]

3 No matter if grief or sadness
Hold with their varied bands,
Just fasten your eyes upon Jesus,
He understands. [Refrain]

4 In everything do Him honor,
Give Him the glory due;
And fasten your eyes upon Jesus,
Who lives for you. [Refrain]
