Representative Text

1 When I know that He is near,
Jesus, my Lord;
I have not a thought of fear,
Jesus, my Lord;
He's my peace, my joy, my life;
Though the world is full of strife,
Still my heart flows out in cheer,
As I feel His presence here.

2 When I know that Jesus lives,
Jesus, my Lord;
And to me His mercy gives,
Jesus, my Lord;
How can I His Spirit grieve?
O, my heart, believe, believe,
Taste the sweetness offered you,
Be thou to His lessons true.

3 When I know that Jesus speaks,
Jesus, my Lord;
That my love He ever seeks,
Jesus, my Lord;
Can I turn from Him away?
Nay, I yield, His call obey,
Gaze with wonder on His face,
Take His proffered love and grace.
Amen.
