Author: Frederick S. Stanton
Tune: [We praise thee, O Lord] (Stanton)
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1. We praise thee, O Lord,
For the comforts of home,
While little ones homeless
In hunger do roam;
Our needs are supplied,
Thy blessings we share,
Oh, bring to the hungry
Thy comforts so rare.

Chorus:
We praise thee, O Lord,
We praise thee, O Lord,
Oh, help us to love thee,
And follow thy word.

2. We praise thee, O Lord,
For our kindred so dear,
Who pray and desire
That we walk in thy fear.
Who watch o'er our steps
And teach us the right,
While some have no kind ones
To show them the light. [Chorus]

3. We praise thee, O Lord,
For the Sunday School care,
Where we are instructed
Our hearts to prepare
For Jesus our Lord,
Who waits to come in
To dwell with us daily,
And save us from sin. [Chorus]

4. We praise thee, O Lord,
We have heard of thy name,
While far the poor heathen
Are wand'ring in shame.
We'll help with our mites
The gospel convey,
That those now in darkness
May hear and obey. [Chorus]
