Representative Text

1 We have heard such blessed news,
Of a land from sorrow free,
Where the Savior’s loved and own
Dwell with Him eternally.
O’er that country bright and fair,
There shall come no shade of sin,
And beyond its border land,
Parted hands shall clasp again.

Refrain:
Parted hands shall clasp again,
In that land where is no sin,
There the Savior calls His own,
And beside the great white throne,
Parted hands shall clasp again.

2 Here we see the falling tear,
Here we hear the parting knell,
But we know in that blest land,
We shall never say farewell.
Here our loved ones bid goodby
As to rest they enter in,
But when all with Jesus stand,
Parted hands shall clasp again. [Refrain]

3 O how blessed it will be,
When our loved ones there we meet;
What a day of wondrous joy,
When we there each other greet.
Though we see our loved ones go,
Yet thro’ Christ a crown they win,
And some day ‘twill not be long,
Parted hands shall clasp again. [Refrain]
