Representative Text

1 We are on our journey to the heav’nly home,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus?
He has often called you and he bids you come,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus?

Chorus:
Come and walk along with Jesus,
Come and walk along with Jesus!
He will lead you gently all the homeward way!
Will you come and walk along with Jesus?

2 Rough may be the pathway and your footsteps sore,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus?
He will lead you gently where he’s been before,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus? [Chorus]

3 Dangers may surround you and the day be drear,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus?
He know how to guide you and you need not fear,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus? [Chorus]

4 You with age may tremble as you near life’s end,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus?
He will there sustain you, all-sufficient Friend,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus? [Chorus]

5 Then across the river in the glory-land,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus?
Find your mansion builded by your Lord’s own hand,
Will you come and walk along with Jesus? [Chorus]
