Representative Text

1 Waiting for Jesus, and working while I wait;
His lab’rers they are few,
So I will work with an earnest, loving heart,
And hands that are kind and true.

Refrain:
Waiting for Jesus,
And working while I wait;
Surely my heart is blest;
Waiting for Jesus, and working while I wait,
And then going home to rest.

2 Waiting for Jesus, and working while I wait;
Sowing on hill and plain;
Reaping with care all the fruit of earnest toil,
A harvest of golden grain. [Refrain]

3 Waiting for Jesus, and working while I wait;
What though the hours seem long;
Greater the harvest I then may garner in,
And sweeter the harvest-song. [Refrain]
