Thou My Strength, and My Redeemer

Thou my Strength, and my Redeemer

Author: Fanny Crosby
Tune: THE UPLIFTED CROSS
Published in 2 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Thou my Strength, and my Redeemer,
Fount of life and joy divine:
Where alone my hope is anchored,
Keep me Lord, oh, keep me Thine.

Chorus:
To the cross, oh, bring me nearer,
Tho' the pow'rs of earth assail;
Trusting Thee, oh, blessed Master,
Trusting Thee I cannot fail.

2 All I have is on Thy altar,
All I ask Thy love bestows;
And the peace that passeth knowledge,
Like a dream of gladness flows. [Chorus]

3 In the hours of deepest trial,
When the surges o'er me break;
Thou hast said, and I believe it,
Thou wilt not Thine own forsake. [Chorus]

4 Till my soul shall reach its haven,
Till I dwell forevermore
In the home of many mansions,
Far beyond this fleeting shore. [Chorus]
