Representative Text

1 There’s a land of bliss eternal,
Over on the other side,
I’ll be there, by and by;
With my blessed, loving Saviour,
I will evermore abide,
I’ll be there, by and by.

Refrain:
I’ll be there, by and by,
I will meet my precious Saviour, by and by;
In the realms of endless day,
Where all tears are wiped away,
I’ll be there fore’er to stay, by and by.

2 ‘Tis a truth my soul uplifting,
As I journey to that land,
I’ll be there, by and by;
There I’ll meet my dear Redeemer,
Clasp the waiting, outstretched hand,
I’ll be there, by and by. [Refrain]

3 Do you wonder why I’m happy,
In this life of trial and care?
I’ll be there, by and by;
Do you know I’ll have a mansion
Which my Saviour will prepare?
I’ll be there, by and by. [Refrain]

4 As each day the shadows gather,
I am one day nearer home,
I’ll be there, by and by;
When I reach the realms of glory,
Nevermore my steps shall roam,
I’ll be there, by and by. [Refrain]
