Representative Text

1 The Savior is tenderly saying to thee,
“Oh, give me thy heart today,”
Tomorrow, tomorrow, oh let it not be,
There's death in the path of delay.

Refrain:
Today, today,
Give Jesus thy heart today;
Tomorrow forever may be too late,
Tomorrow forever may seal up your fate;
Then give him thy heart today,
Today, today.

2 “Tomorrow,” the sin-loving millions have said;
Give Jesus thy heart today;
Today they are numbered, the Christless, the dead,
“Tomorrow,” their fatal delay. [Refrain]

3 Oh, say not tomorrow—how fatal that word!
Give Jesus thy heart today;
"Tomorrow," that echo will ever be heard,
By millions cast out and away. [Refrain]

4 Dear sinner, the Savior will not always plead,
Then give him thy heart today;
Oh, wait not tomorrow, today is the need,
Oh, come, for his mercy now pray. [Refrain]

5 When Jesus has saved you, you're ready to die,
Give Jesus thy heart today;
You're ready to live then on earth or on high,
Oh, come to the heavenly way. [Refrain]
