Representative Text

1 The promised day is dawning,
With slow and steady light;
God’s holy word is spreading
O’er climes of darkest night;
Yet, from those distant regions,
We hear the plaintive cry
For Bible truths, so teach them
From sin and death to fly.

2 Our mission fields progressing,
With grateful hearts we view;
Great things have been accomplished,
But much remains to do;
We need more Christian workers,
The cross of Christ to bear;
And who, we ask, are willing
The toil with us to share?

3 Remember, O remember
The Saviour’s last command,
Go forth and preach the gospel,
Go forth to every land;
Believe and trust the promise,
And on its truth depend;
Lo, I am with you alway,
Yes, with you to the end.
