1 تبارك الله الأزل
أبو المحبِّ المفتدي
مدحٌ وسبحٌ لم يزل
لفضله المُمَجّدِ

2 إذ رفعَ ابنا درجا
مَيْتا إلى فوق الجلدْ
أعطى نفوسنا الرجا
تحيا به إلى الأبدْ

3 حكمُ الخطايا أن تُعيدْ
أجسادَنا إلى الترابْ
لكن مع الابن الوحيدْ
تحيا كذا كلُّ الصحابْ

4 لهم نصيبٌ في العُلى
باقٍ إلى يوم المَعادْ
لا دنسٌ ولا بِلى
يُدركُه ولا فسادْ

5 يبقون في مِثلِ الخِبا
حِفظا إلى يوم النجاه
يسعون مثل الغربا
حتى يوافيهم دُعاه

Isaac Watts was the son of a schoolmaster, and was born in Southampton, July 17, 1674. He is said to have shown remarkable precocity in childhood, beginning the study of Latin, in his fourth year, and writing respectable verses at the age of seven. At the age of sixteen, he went to London to study in the Academy of the Rev. Thomas Rowe, an Independent minister. In 1698, he became assistant minister of the Independent Church, Berry St., London. In 1702, he became pastor. In 1712, he accepted an invitation to visit Sir Thomas Abney, at his residence of Abney Park, and at Sir Thomas' pressing request, made it his home for the remainder of his life. Nasif al-Yaziji (March 25, 1800 – February 8, 1871) was a Lebanese author at the times of the Ottoman Empire and father of Ibrahim al-Yaziji. He was one of the leading figures in the Nahda movement. We was a poet, wrote and translated many hymns, and helped in translating the complete Bible into Arabic. ناصيف بن عبد الله بن جنبلاط بن سعد اليازجي (25 مارس 1800 - 8 فبراير 1871)، أديب وشاعر لبناني ولد في قرية كفر شيما، من قرى الساحل اللبناني في 25 آذار سنة 1800 م في أسرة اليازجي التي نبغ كثير من أفرادها في الفكر والأدب، وأصله من حمص. لعب دورا كبيرا في إعاد… Go to person page >
