Shepherd of Israel, Holy and blest

Author: E. E. Hewitt
Tune: [Shepherd of Israel] (Sweney)
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Shepherd of Israel,
Holy and blest,
Come we in prayer to Thee,
Seeking Thy rest.
Pardon and heal us, Lord,
Grant us Thy grace,
Help us to follow where
Thy steps we trace.

Refrain:
Shepherd of Israel,
Shepherd of Israel,
Shepherd of Israel,
Holy and blest!

2 Shepherd of Isreal,
Kind, as of old,
Turn Thou our weary feet
To Thy safe fold.
There bid us freely drink
Of living streams,
Resting in pastures green,
'Neath love's fair beams. [Refrain]

3 Shepherd of Israel,
Strngthen with might
Those who must do Thy will,
Ere comes the night.
Care for the little lambs,
Shield them from harm,
Carried so tenderly
On Thy strong arm. [Refrain]

4 Shepherd of Israel,
From morn till eve
Thine eye its watch will keep,
Thou wilt not leave.
Guide and defend us, Lord,
Going before,
Then o'er the valley dim
Thy radiance pour. [Refrain]
