Será possível eu ganhar (3)

Representative Text

1. Será possível eu ganhar
Mercê no sangue do Senhor?
Por mim soffreu? Me quer salvar
A mim, seu crucificador?
Incomparavel tanto amor!
Por mim morreu o Salvador!

2. Mystério! Morre o immortal!
Quem póde o plano comprehender?
Em vão da morte divinal
O amor o arcanjo quer sondar.
Ó, anjos, homens, aprendei
Que é infinita sua mercê.

3. O throno o Rei do Céu deixou
(Alegre aceita a humilhação);
Da Glória tudo abandonou,
Excepto o amor e a compaixão.
A tua graça não tem fim;
Pois, ó meu Deus, chegou a mim!

4. Ficou na negra escuridão
Minha alma presa de temor.
Raiou-me o divinal perdão,
Me despertou teu resplendor!
Cadeia aberta, eu sahi,
E livre, alegre a ti segui!

5. Receios de condemnação
Já não os tenho; meu Jesus
Me perdoou. Já minhas são
As vestiduras brancas. Luz.
Celeste o throno me mostrou,
E para obte-lo ousado vou!
