Representative Text

1 Send up a pray’r in the morning’s bright blush,
Meeting the Lord in the soul’s sacred hush;
Ask Him to prosper the work of the day;
Ask Him to keep you, and guide all your way.

Refrain:
Send up a pray’r, only a pray’r,
Pleading the merits of Jesus’ dear Name;
Send up a song, some happy song,
His wonderful mercies proclaim.

2 Send up a pray’r as the hours speed along,
Mingle your pray’r with a jubilant song;
Trusting the Father to give what is best,
Blend with thanksgiving each humble request. [Refrain]

3 Send up a pray’r at the still evening hour;
Lie down to rest on the arms of His pow’r,
Safe from all evil in God’s loving care,
Sing of His mercy, and send up a pray’r. [Refrain]
