Representative Text

1 Preach the blessed gospel, preach it near and far,
Preach it in the homes where want and sorrow are;
Unto souls in darkness ’tis a guiding star,
Preach the blessed gospel ev’rywhere.

Refrain:
Preach, preach the gospel on the distant isle,
Preach of peace and pardon to the sinner vile;
Preach in loving word, in loving deed and smile,
Preach the blessed gospel ev’rywhere.

2 Preach the blessed gospel with an open hand,
If you cannot go afar to heathen land;
Ever preach the gospel, ’tis the Lord’s command,
Preach the blessed gospel ev’rywhere. [Refrain]

3 Preach it in the highway, preach it in the lane,
Preach it on the mountain, preach it on the plain;
Preach it in the hearts where sin and sorrow reign,
Preach the blessed gospel ev’rywhere. [Refrain]
