දැක තරුවක් නෙතින්
මග බැස සතොසින්
ඒ අනුව ගිය මෙන්
මෙත් යුත් හිමි අපටත්
එන්ට දෙන් ඔබ වෙත් නිත්

2 ගොස් උන් මව් සමග හුන්
දැක බිලිඳු සුරන්
පිණමින් සිත් බුහුමත්
දුන් ලෙස වැටී දණින්
අපටත් දයා අසුන්
වෙතෙන්ට සිත් දෙන් නිතින්

3 ඔබට උන් අදරින්
පඬුරු පිදූ ලෙසින්
අපද මහත් තුටින්
තොරවී සැම පවින්
අප සතු දේ බැතින්
දෙන්ට ඔබට සිත් දෙන්

4 යේසුනී අප නිතින්
පටු මඟ තබමින්
ලොවින පහවූ සදින්
සගටම ගෙනයන්
නෑ එහි යම් අඳුරක්
නෑ කිසි වලාකුළක්

5 ඒ දිමුත් සග පුරේ
එළි ඕනෑ නොකෙරේ
ඔබ එහි එළියත්
වෙය් කිරුළද හිරුන්
ගී දෙමු එහි තුට
හල්ලෙලූයා රජුට

Most British hymn writers in the nineteenth century were clergymen, but William C. Dix (b. Bristol, England, 1837; d. Cheddar, Somerset, England, 1898) was a notable exception. Trained in the business world, he became the manager of a marine insurance company in Glasgow, Scotland. Dix published various volumes of his hymns, such as Hymns of Love and Joy (1861) and Altar Songs: Verses on the Holy Eucharist (1867).
