Op alle, som paa Jorden bor

Representative Text

1 Op alle, som paa Jorden bor,
Og takker Gud med mig,
Hvis Lov i hellig Englekor
Udsjunges idelig!
Udsjunges idelig!

2 Han giver Helbred, Lov og Brød
Os alle ufortjent,
I megen Angest, Sorg og Nød
Har han os Hjælp tilsendt,
Har han os Hjælp tilsendt.

3 Skjønt vore Synder for ham staar,
Han dog langmodig er,
Og gjør, at vi for Straffen faar
Endog Velgjerninger,
Endog Velgjerninger.

4 Han give os et Hjerte fro
Og sand Frimodighed,
At vi kan tjene ham med Ro
I Verdens Vildsomhed!
I Verdens Vildsomhed!

5 Vort Land, sit eget Israel,
Beskjerme han fra Nød,
Han lade al Ting lykkes vel,
Og give dagligt Brød!
Og give dagligt Brød!

6 Hans Naade staa os kraftig bi
I alle Gjerninger,
Fra Synd og Sorger han os fri,
Thi han vor Fader er!
Thi han vor Fader er!

7 Saa længe her vi leve skal,
Er han vor sol og Skjold,
Ved Udgang af vor Jammerdal
Vi blive i Behold,
Vi blive i Behold.

8 Vort Øie han selv lukker til
I Dødens tunge Nat,
Og naar vort Hjerte briste vil,
Er han vor Del og Skat,
Er han vor Del og Skat.
