What Children Can Do

Representative Text

1 O what can little children do
For the loving Saviour?
For we desire to serve Him, too;
Love and serve the Lord.
O yes, the children would serve Him,
Serve the Saviour, serve the Saviour;
O yes the children would serve Him;
Love and serve the Lord.

2 O we can sing and we can pray,
To the loving Saviour?
And we our parents can obey;
All to please the Lord.
'Tis thus the children can serve Him,
Serve the Saviour, serve the Saviour;
'Tis thus the children can serve Him;
Love and serve the Lord.

3 Yes, we can bring our schoolmates, too,
To the loving Saviour;
And crosses bear and kind things do,
All to please the Lord.
And so the children will serve Him,
Serve the Saviour, serve the Saviour;
And so the children will serve Him;
Love and serve the Lord.

4 We'll give our alms to help the poor,
All to please the Saviour;
We'll let our words and thoughts be pure,
All to please the Lord.
We'll praise and pray to the Saviour,
Serving Jesus, serving Jesus;
We'll praise and pray to the Saviour–
Love and serve the Lord.
