Representative Text

1 O wandering one, why longer roam,
And seek from God to hide?
Thy Saviour waits to lead thee home,
It was for this He died!

Refrain:
Thy scarlet sins like snow shall be,
Through Christ, the crucified.
Behold the Cross of Calvary!
It was for this He died.

2 O prodigal, return today!
Thou wilt not be denied!
He never casts His own away—
It was for this He died! [Refrain]

3 O tempted child, He sees and hears
When thou art sorely tried,
And as thine Advocate appears—
It was for this He died! [Refrain]

4 O weary heart, the morning breaks
For which thou long hast sighed;
The King descends! His Throne He takes!
It was for this He died! [Refrain]
