Stand for the Right

Representative Text

1 O stand for the right, whatever be the cost!
Victory! victory never must be lost;
God is your helper, He will make you true and strong,
Ever stand for the right and rejoicing, march along.

Chorus:
Stand for the right, stand for the right,
Stand ever steadfast and true;
O stand for the right in the armor of might,
And there will be glory for you.

2 O stand for the right, obey the law divine!
Steadily, steadily, keeping to the line;
If in the conflict you would sing the victor-song,
In the strength of the Lord you must conquer ev’ry wrong. [Chorus]

3 O stand for the right, forgetting all the past,
Pressing on, pressing on, glory comes at last!
You have the promises, oh, never, never quail!
Ever stand for the right till you over all prevail. [Chorus]
