O come, while He calls you

Representative Text

1 O come while He calls you there’s no time to lose,
Why turn your Redeemer away?
Though Satan may tempt you His love to refuse,
Ask Jesus to save you today.

Refrain:
Ask Jesus to save you, I know He will!
Hold fast to the promise, His word He’ll fulfill;
There’s danger in waiting, no longer delay,
Ask Jesus to save you today.

2 He lingers in pity, this wonderful Friend,
His goodness you ne’er can repay;
His glorious presence new gladness will lend,
Ask Jesus to save you today. [Refrain]

3 He died for your ransom on Calvary’s tree,
Repent and believe while you may;
From sin and its bondage He’ll soon set you free,
Ask Jesus to save you today. [Refrain]

Lizzie De Armond was a prolific writer of children's hymns, recitations and exercises. When she was twelve years old her first poem was published in the Germantown, Pa. Telegraph, however, it was not until she was a widow with eight children to support that she started writing in earnest. She wrote articles, librettos, nature stories and other works, as well as hymns.
