Representative Text

1 My soul followeth hard after thee,
My Savior, my King and my God.
No thorns shall forbid me to tread
Where’er thy revered feet have trod.

Refrain:
My soul followeth hard after thee,
My soul followeth hard after thee;
In the sunshine or the shade or where’er my pathway lead,
My soul followeth hard after thee.

2 My soul followeth hard after thee,
By faith to thy Word do I cling;
When billows against me would beat,
Oh, shelter me under thy wing. [Refrain]

3 My soul followeth hard after thee,
From morn till the close of the day;
Then close in thy steps let me keep,
Till I get to the end of the way. [Refrain]

4 My soul followeth hard after thee,
Then lead me, O Lord, by thy hand;
When earth and its cares I shall leave,
Redeemed at thy side let me stand. [Refrain]
