Representative Text

1 My Father’s hand is clasped in mine,
I’m holding fast;
Unto His promises divine,
I’m holding fast;
For what can part me from His love,
Nor depth below nor height above;
And from His care can naught remove,
I’m holding fast.

Refrain:
I’m holding fast to my Father’s hand,
I’ll love Him ever
And naught shall sever whate’er betide,
I’m holding fast to my Father’s hand;
My faith in Him shall never fail,
I’m holding fast.

2 Unto His word that stands for aye,
I’m holding fast;
Till heav’n and earth shall pass away,
I’m holding fast;
For as a rock and refuge sure,
Thro’ ages long it shall endure;
And so I rest, serene, secure,
I’m holding fast. [Refrain]

3 Unto the hope that He has giv’n,
I’m holding fast
Unto the peace that comes from heav’n
I’m holding fast;
My faith in Him shall never fail,
My anchor holds within the vail;
To Him who ever shall prevail,
I’m holding fast. [Refrain]
