Representative Text

1 Lobt Gott, ihr Christen allzugleich,
in seinem höchsten Thron,
sein Wort, zeigt uns sein Himmelreich,
durch Christum seinen Sohn,

2 Was er zuvor zu vieler Zeit,
auf so viel Weis und Art,
durch die Propheten ausgebreit't,
ist uns nun offenbart.

3 Sein Sohn hat uns nun selbst gelehrt
den Weg zur Seligkeit,
daß wir durch ihn zu Gott bekehrt,
einkehrn zur Himmelreich.

4 Das ist die Wahrheit und das Licht,
das ist der Morgenstern
denn was Gott zusagt, das geschicht,
er hilft von Herzen gern.

5 Und wann die ganze Welt vergeht,
so bleibt mir dieses fest,
daß Gottes Wort allein besteht,
dß mich Gott nicht verläßt.

6 Ehr sei dem Vater und den Sohn,
Ehr sei dem heilgen Geist,
gelobt sei Gott ins Himmels Thron,
mein Gott sei hochgepreist.
