Representative Text

1 Live to do your duty,
That your life may bear
Smiles of light and gladness
For a world of care;
Live to do your duty,
Faithful till your die;
Walk the shining glory path to rest on high.

Refrain:
Live, live for duty,
Live, live for duty,
Live, live for duty,
Faithful till you die.
Live to do your duty,
That your life may bear
Smiles of light and gladness
For a world of care;
Live to do your duty,
Faithful till your die;
Walk the shining glory path to rest on high.

2 Live as lives the sunshine,
Lonely hearts to cheer,
When the flow’rs are faded
O’er a pathway drear;
Live to do your duty,
True and faithful be,
Till in glory’s morning land the Lord you see. [Refrain]

3 Live to follow Jesus,
Brave and true and strong;
He will give His children
Victory over wrong;
Live to do your duty,
Faithful till you die,
Then go home where Jesus lives beyond the sky. [Refrain]
