Sweet hosannas loudly sing
To your Saviour and your King.

2 When the anxious mothers round HIm
With their tender infants pressed,
He with open arms received them,
And the little ones He blessed. [Refrain]

3 Up in yonder happy regions
Angels sound the chorus high;
Twice ten thousand times ten thousand
Send His praises through the sky. [Refrain]

Little children, praise the Saviour, p. 1577, i. We have traced this hymn to the Juvenile Harmonist, published by the Sunday School Union, c. 1837 or 1838, where it appeared anonymously, and apparently for the first time. It is in several modern collections, including the Scotch Church Hymnary, 1898, and others. [Rev. James Bonar, M.A.]
