Life is like the rolling ocean

Representative Text

1 Life is like the rolling ocean, deep and wide,
Souls are ever borne upon its restless tide;
If into the harbor you would safely guide,
Let your light shine and show the way.

Refrain:
Shine and show the way,
Shine and show the way,
Get a burning flame from Christ the Light Divine;
Then you’ll brightly shine,
Ever brightly shine,
Be a living light to shine and show the way.

2 There’s enough of sadness, there’s enough of woe,
There’s enough of darkness in the world below;
Be a living lighthouse ev’rywhere you go,
Let your light shine and show the way. [Refrain]

3 Heaven is the harbor we will reach at last,
When the sea of life with all its storms is pass’d,
Would you have another safe his anchor cast?
Let your light shine and show the way. [Refrain]
