Carlos Rosas is a pioneer and expert in Hispanic liturgical music, utilizing the popular rhythms of the music of Mexico for his compositions. Carlos was born in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico, where he began his studies in music and liturgy at the age of 12. Two experiences inspire Carlos’s music: biblical reflection and liturgical celebration. “The two go together,” he says, “feeding and enhancing one another.” He has served as liturgy coordinator and composer in residence at the Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC) and choir director at San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio, Texas. Rev. George Lockwood was born in 1946 and has been a missionary to Costa Rica. He has pastored Spanish-speaking congregations in both Arizona and California and served on the editorial committee for the Methodist hymnal supplement Celebremos II. In addition, Lockwood has traveled throughout Central and South America interviewing church musicians and gathering new hymns from both Spanish and Portuguese cultures which he then presents at conferences and workshops.
