Representative Text

1 Let the blessed love-light linger as the days are flying past,
Let it be among the precious things that last;
Let it light the way around us with a warm and cheery ray,
Chasing dark and gloomy shadows far away.

Refrain:
Blessed love-light!
Let it linger,
Let it sparkle in our faces as we go;
It will brighten ev’ry day,
It will drive the clouds away,
Till the world with heav’nly beams is all aglow.

2 Let the blessed love-light linger as it gleams from Bethlehem’s Star,
Sending happy rays to distant lands afar;
As it streams with softened radiance from the cross on Calv’ry’s hill,
Leading sinners to the only Savior still. [Refrain]

3 Let the blessed love-light linger, O let Jesus dwell within,
For his presence drives away the clouds of sin;
Let not proud nor selfish motives cast a shadow o’er the heart,
For the Savior’s pow’r can bid them all depart. [Refrain]
