Representative Text

1 Jesus gently pleads today;
Now the gracious call obey;
There’s a blessing in confessing,
There is danger in delay.

Refrain:
Christ is calling, sweetly calling,
He will keep your feet from falling;
Christ is calling, ever calling,
“Weary wand’ring soul, O come to me.”

2 Only One your woes can feel,
Only One your sorrows heal;
Tho’ unholy, meek and lowly
At His throne of mercy kneel. [Refrain]

3 To the Lord your sins confess,
Now accept His righteousness;
O receive Him, do not grieve Him;
He the contrite heart will bless. [Refrain]

4 In the safe and narrow way
Christ will keep you day by day;
Grief and sadness change to gladness
When this world has pass’d away. [Refrain]
