Representative Text

1 Increase our faith; thro’ good and ill,
Help us, O Lord, to trust thee still,
And, leaning hard upon thy breast,
Find, come what will, that we are blest.
“Our daily bread,” our strength prepare
The given cross to meekly bear;
And when we toil, the grace impart
To do thy will with glad and willing heart.

Refrain:
Increase our faith, still more and more,
Until we come to Glory’s shore;
Increase our faith, until we sing
With all thy saints, to thee, our blessed King.

2 Increase our faith; tho’ storms may blow,
Within our souls may richly grow
The fruits of hope, and faith and love
That please thine eye,O Lord above.
Let nothing shake this happy trust
In thee so good, so wise and just;
When trials sore, perplexed, we see,
O make us truly stay our minds on thee. [Refrain]

3 Increase our faith, O Friend divine,
Help us to see the stars that shine
When earthly beams shall fade away,
And evening fall on joy’s bright day.
Help us to look beyond the night
And catch the dawn of morning light,
Beyond the scenes of fleeting time,
To that fair land of peace and bliss sublime. [Refrain]
