Representative Text

1 In the service of the Master,
There is joy, and peace, and rest,
As we follow where he leads us,
E’er obeying his behest.
O there’s glory, glory, glory,
Growing brighter every day.
As we strive to serve him truly,
In his own appointed way.

Refrain:
O there’s glory, glory, glory,
Growing brighter every day,
As we strive to service him truly,
In his own appointed way.

2 Onward then with joy we’re pressing
At his holy, blessed will,
And his love our hand will strengthen,
Every duty to fulfill.
All the heav’nward path is shining
With the glory of his love,
As our feet are upward climbing
Toward his kingdom fair above. [Refrain]

3 Oh, we’re happy in his service,
As the days are gliding by,
And his holy presence cheers us,
He is ever, ever nigh.
And when love’s sweet labor’s ended,
He will call us home to rest
In the bright eternal mansions
In the “City of the Blest.” [Refrain]
