Representative Text

1 In the Christian path of duty
True and faithful I would be,
Living up to God’s commandments,
Trusting, tho’ I cannot see.

Refrain:
Jesus keep me true and faithful
To the trust reposed in me;
Keep me ever, blessed Saviour,
True and faithful, more like thee.

2 Where the battle fierce is raging,
There my sword must never rust;
But I would be true to Jesus,
Faithful to my precious trust. [Refrain]

3 In the hour of testimony,
There a witness I would be,
True and faithful to the Master
Who hath done so much for me. [Refrain]

4 When before his throne I’m standing,
May I hear the Saviour say,
“Thou on earth wast true and faithful,
Enter in to perfect day.” [Refrain]

At the age of nineteen he joined the M.E. Church, and a few years later he was granted a license to preach the Gospel, and still later he was regularly ordained by Bishop Merrill. However, Mr. Oatman only serves as a local preacher. For many years he was engaged with his father in the mercantile business at Lumberton… Go to person page >
