Representative Text

1 I will kneel at the cross in my sin and shame,
Trusting in the name of Jesus,
There the mercy divine I will humbly claim,
Trusting in the name of Jesus.

Refrain:
I am turning away from the world’s empty dross,
And forsaking the pathways of darkness and loss;
With my burden of guilt I will kneel at the cross,
Trusting in the name of Jesus.

2 I have only a penitent’s plea to bring,
Trusting in the name of Jesus,
To no hope but of pardoning grace I cling,
Trusting in the name of Jesus. [Refrain]

3 I can find rest and peace at the cross alone,
Trusting in the name of Jesus,
At the cross find a joy to my soul unknown,
Trusting in the name of Jesus. [Refrain]

4 At the foot of the cross all my sins I’ll lay,
Trusting in the name of Jesus,
And the love that redeems me I’ll praise for aye,
Trusting in the name of Jesus. [Refrain]
