Representative Text

1 I can see a band of soldiers
Being tested by their God,
And tho’ going on to battle
With the shield and with the rod,
They are halted by a river
And are told to quench their thirst;
See those brave Three Hundred chosen,
They are shouting “Vict’ry first.”

Refrain:
The brave three hundred men
All ready for the foe,
They march all armor clad
As fearless on they go;
Their hearts are strong with courage,
There’s vict’ry in their cry,
The brave three hundred men
Will conquer or they’ll die.

2 I can see a band of people
Being tested day by day,
They are face to face with Satan
Who opposes in the way;
God is calling all to service
But is choosing out the few
That His work may be completed,
Thro’ a band of people true. [Refrain]

3 Great the need of Christian workers
For the world is sick with sin,
Ev’ry day a battle rages;
Satan seeks the fight to win;
‘Tis today that all are needed
To be up and fighting wrong,
Souls of men are claimed by Satan,
That in truth to God belong. [Refrain]

4 Be thou ready and whole-hearted,
For the world is needing those
Who are faithful, and whose courage
Will be strong when foes oppose;
If you’re ready for the conflict
Whether morn or noon or night,
God will choose and surely use you
‘Gainst the wrong and for the right. [Refrain]
