Hosanna be our cheerful song

Representative Text

1 Hosanna! be our cheerful song
To Christ our Saviour King:
His praise, to whom we all belong
Let all unite to sing.

2 Hosanna! here in joyful bands,
Let old and young proclaim;
And hail, with voices, hearts, and hands,
The Son of David's name.

3 Hosanna! sound from hill to hill.
And spread from plain to plain;
Which louder, sweeter, clearer still,
Woods echo to the strain.

4 Hosanna! on the wings of light,
O'er earth and ocean fly,
Till morn to eve, and noon to night,
And heaven to earth reply.
