Representative Text

1 Holy Bible! book divine,
Light and life in ev’ry line;
Light for all who Christ receive,
Life for all who will believe.

Refrain:
Holy Bible! blessed book!
Now by faith to thee I look;
Open thou my eyes, O Lord,
To the wonders of thy word.

2 Holy Bible! book of truth!
Only guide for age and youth;
All who search are sure to find,
Rest of soul and peace of mind. [Refrain]

3 Holy Bible! book of God!
For mankind the only code;
All its laws we must obey,
Heed its precepts day by day. [Refrain]

4 Holy Bible! spirit’s sword!
Story of our blessed Lord;
Chart to guide me to the skies,
Where awaits the glory prize. [Refrain]
