Representative Text

1 Heralds of Jesus, go in might,
Carry the message, bear the light;
Songs of salvation sing again,
“Jesus hath died to ransom men;
Over the cross of Calvary,
Glory of heaven shines for thee.”

Refrain:
Over the cross,
Over the cross of Calvary;
Over the cross,
The glory of heaven shines for thee.

2 Heralds of Jesus, go in peace,
Speak to the captive glad release;
Strengthen the helpless, tempest-tossed,
Comfort the mourning, seek the lost;
Jesus hath sent his word to thee,
Follow your leader, “follow me.” [Refrain]

3 Heralds of Jesus, go in love,
Crown’d with the spirit from above,
Girdled with mercy stainless, bright,
Fair as the saints that walk in white,
Robed like the angels of his grave,
Tell that he lives, he lives to save. [Refrain]
