1 Her er Guds Hus og Himlens Port,
Herfra der gaar en Stige,
Af Ord og Sakramenter gjort,
Alt op til Himmerige,
Hvorpaa Guds Engle træde ind,
Gud Fader self paa høi'ste Trin
Sin Fred vill os tilsige.

2 Her er Guds Hus og Himlens Port,
Og jeg det vidste ikke!
Jeg sovet har de Timer bort,
Han Bud mig vilde skikke.
O væk mig, vend fra Jordens Bo
Med Jakobs sterke Haab og Tro
Til Himlen mine Blikke!

3 Gud, send da dine Engle ned,
Lab mig din Røst faa høre,
Lys over mig en hellig Fred.
Lab Fienden mig ei røre!
Jeg er en fattig vandringsmand,
Lov mig, du til mit Fædreland
Vil frelst mig, Arme, føre!
