Author: Flora Kirkland
Tune: [O ye thirsty ones that languish]
Published in 3 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Hear the gentle voice of Jesus
Calling as of old,
Weary ones and heavy-laden
To the shelter of His fold.

Chorus:
He will not fail thee,
He will heed thy cry;
Listen to His precious promise,
"I will guide thee with Mine eye."

2 Never, never be discouraged,
Tho' the shadows lie
Darkly o'er the path before thee;
He will guide thee with His eye. [Chorus]

3 Take your burdens all to Jesus,
Cast on Him your care;
He will guide you and protect you,
All the time and ev'rywhere. [Chorus]

4 Vain and empty sinful pleasures
Soon shall reach their end:
Jesus is a fadeless Treasure!
Jesus is a changeless Friend! [Chorus]
