Gud Fader være æret

Representative Text

1 Gud Fader være æret!
Din Naade har ei været
Forgjæves over mig;
Du har idag begravet
Min Syndeskyld i Havet,
Og lægt mit Sjæl vidunderlig.

2 O Jesus, naar jeg tænker,
Hvor naadig du mig skjænker
Dit eget Kjød og Blod,
Og lader med det samme
Mig evigt Liv annamme,
Sig glæder alt mit Sind og Mod.

3 Vel mig, jeg har nu Livet,
Mig Synden er tilgivet,
Gud Fader godt mig vil,
Og Jesus tog min Pine,
Saa slukkes Sorger mine,
Mig hjalp den Helligaand dertil.

4 Nu synger jeg af Glæde,
Og kan oplivet træde
Til Hjemmets søde Ro,
Frigjort fra Syndens Plage,
Gud lad mig alle Dage
I Fred for Syndens Trældom bo!

5 O Jesus, du, som vilde
Mig to i dit Blods Kilde
For Gud som Sneen hvid,
Lad mig mit Liv forandre,
Og i dit Lys henvandre,
Og være din til evig Tid!
