1 Gladelig vil vi Halleluja kvæde,
Hjertet skal lege for Herren af Glæde;
Gud giver Synderne til og udsletter,
Tungeste Sorgen af Hjertet os letter!

2 Alt, hvad der lever paa Jorden, skal love
Herren saa liflig som Fuglen i Skove;
Veien og Livet i Kristus er fundet,
Døden og Djævelens Magt overvundet!

3 Alle, som tro, gjør han Miskund og Naade
Trøster og hjælper i værende Vaade,
Trofast i alle de Evigheds Dage
Efter sit Ord, som kan aldrig bedrage.

4 Gud være lovet, os løste af Vaanden!
Gud være lovet med Sønne og Aanden,
Han, som har været og er uden Ende,
Sand Gud, for Syndere salig at kjende!

Agricola, Johann or Johannes (latinized from Schneider, (Schnitter) or Sartor, also called Magister Islebius), born April 20, 1492, at Eisleben, where his father was a tailor. During his University course at Wittenberg, Luther took a great interest in him, entertained him at his own table, took him with him to Leipzig for the disputation, in 1519, with Dr. Eck, and in 1525 procured for him the position of Rector of St. Andrew's School at Eisleben, and preacher at St. Nicholas's Church there. He remained in Eisleben till 1536, working hand in hand with Luther; but after his removal to Wittenberg, in 1536, as one of the lecturers in the University, he developed Antinomian views, and, in 1537, published a series of theses which Luther answered… Go to person page >

Magnus Brostrup Landstad (born 7 October 1802 in Måsøy, Norway and died 8 October 1880 in Kristiania) was a Norwegian minister, psalmist and poet who published the first collection of authentic Norwegian traditional ballads in 1853. This work was criticized for unscientific methods, but today it is commonly accepted that he contributed significantly to the preservation of the traditional ballads. Landstad lived with his father Hans Landstad (1771–1838) who was also a minister, first in 1806 to Øksnes, to Vinje in 1811 and to Seljord in 1819. He took a theological degree (cand. theol) in 1827, and worked after that as the resident chaplain in Gausdal for six years.
