Battling for the right

Representative Text

1 Gather 'round the banner of the Lord, our King,
Battling for the right,
Trusting in his might;
Soldiers of the kingdom let us gladly sing,
Trusting in the Saviour's might.

Chorus:
Joy! Joy! Victory we sing!
Keeping close to Jesus evermore!
He will help us ev'ry hour,
Give us overcoming pow'r,
Till we praise him on the golden shore.

2 Girding on the armor, helmet, shield and sword,
Battling for the right,
Trusting in his might;
He will stand beside us, timely help afford,
While we trust his saving might. [Chorus]

3 Many fierce temptations, many snares we meet,
Battling for the right,
Trusting in his might;
Plenteous grace is given at the Mercy seat,
We will trust his saving might. [Chorus]

4 Whatsoever dangers shall around us throng,
Battling for the right,
Trusting in his might,
Christ is our salvation, he our strength and song;
Glory to his saving might. [Chorus]
