Representative Text

1 Farther on, what joys await us,
In the palace of our King!
Looking up, with hearts expectant,
Of the future we may sing.

Refrain:
Farther on, the way grows brighter:—
Father on, the light grows clear;—
We shall see, with perfect vision,
What is dimly mirrored here.

2 Hopes may fail, and joys elude us,
Treasures flutter from our hold;
Farther on, where faith is pointing,
Lies the land of bliss untold. [Refrain]

3 Thro’ the darkest night of sorrow,
If the soul on Christ be stayed;
Shines afar, a bright tomorrow;
Where the light shall never fade. [Refrain]

4 Thro’ the wintry storms of trouble,
Faith discerns yon country blest;
Where abides eternal springtime,
Love and joy and peace and rest. [Refrain]
