Faithful Remain

Representative Text

1 Faithful remain to thy Saviour and King,
Daily fresh tokens of gratitude bring;
Gratefully serve him and hopefully cling
To each precious promise divine;
Seeking to know his adorable will,
Striving his pleasure in love to fulfill,
Steadfastly, joyously serving him till
We each in his kingdom shall shine.

Refrain:
Faithful remain to the Saviour and King,
Daily fresh tokens of gratitude bring;
Gratefully serve him, and hopefully cling
To each precious promise, to each precious promise divine.

2 Faithful remain, for the end draweth nigh,
All earthly hopes must soon wither and die.
Storm-clouds and tempest may blacken our sky,
And darkness thy path may obscure;
Darkness and gloom must precede the glad day,
Night with its shadows shall vanish away;
Yield to not fear, to no thought of dismay,
Thy rest and thy home are secure. [Refrain]

3 Faithful remain to thy Saviour and Lord,
Ev’ry good deed shall his angels record,
Quickly he cometh our toils to reward,
If we to the end shall endure;
Soon his bright form in the clouds we shall see,
Soon in his presence and glory shall be,
Soon from all sin and all sorrow be free,
And ev’ry complaint find a cure. [Refrain]
