Representative Text

1 Come, wand'rer, to the Lamb of God,
And trust His all-atoning blood;
'Twill cover all thy sin from sight.
Welcome home, welcome home! O come tonight.

Refrain:
Come home tonight,
Come home tonight
And all thy guilt shall be forgiven;
Do not delay, His voice obey,
Come home, come home tonight.

2 Thy name may with the noble stand,
And be broadcast o'er all the land;
Man ne'er can read the heart aright.
Welcome home, welcome home! O come tonight. [Refrain]

3 Long as thou still His call refuse,
And heaven's profer'd grace abuse,
Thy soul is in a fearsome plight.
Welcome home, welcome home! O come tonight. [Refrain]

4 What if this night thy life should end,
Eternal years where wouldst thou spend?
In blackness of eternal night!
Welcome home, welcome home! O come tonight. [Refrain]

5 His Spirit, speaking to thy heart,
Will soon forevermore depart,
And take His everlasting flight.
Welcome home, welcome home! O come tonight. [Refrain]

6 O do not turn from God thy face,
Nor leave unsav'd this sacred place,
Till thou decide this question right
Welcome home, welcome home! O come tonight. [Refrain]
