Representative Text

1 Christ our King goes forth to conquer
Over all the pow’rs of sin,
And we know that He shall triumph,
And the mighty vict’ry win.
Soon, the sun of time, descending,
Will the evening shadows bring;
Are you speeding on the chariot of the everlasting King?

Refrain:
O, there’s work for you, and there’s work for me,
For He’s riding on in glory, and the kingdom His shall be;
Will you share His triumph, when His ransomed He shall bring?
Are you speeding on the chariot of the King?

2 Hear His call for loyal soldiers
In the war against all ill;
Come, and take from His the armor;
Every promise He’ll fulfill.
O, there’s gladness in His service;
Joy-bells in your soul shall ring,
When you’re speeding on the chariot of the everlasting King. [Refrain]

3 There’s a call for lowly labor,
For the work that no one sees
Save the ever-watchful Master,
O, how sweet His eye to please!
If you “speak a word in season;”
If you make a sad heart sing,
You are speeding on the chariot of the everlasting King. [Refrain]
